What We Do

At Body Osteopathy we use a wide range of treatment techniques to help get you moving a feeling better. Common techniques used throughout an osteopathic treatment include deep tissue massage, trigger point release, muscle energy techniques, stretching and joint mobilisation.

Dry needling

Where indicated, dry needling can be used as part of your osteopathic treatment.

Dry needling involves using small sterile needles that are placed into muscles to help increase blood flow, reduced muscle tension and assist recovery from injury or discomfort. All our osteopaths are qualified to use dry needling as part of your osteopathic treatment. It is something you can discuss with your practitioner and decide if its right for you.

Acupuncture Session

Cupping

Cupping can be used to help ease muscle tension and increase blood flow to assist healing and recovery. Our osteopaths have training in the use of both slide and fixed cupping techniques which can be used in your treatment alongside a range of other osteopathic treatment techniques.

 Sporting Injuries

We use a wide range of treatment techniques to help assist both acute and chronic sporting injuries. Our osteopaths have years of experience working with sports people and athletes to help ease pain from common sporting injuries including knee ligament and meniscus injuries, muscle strains, ankle sprains, tendinopathies, repetitive strain injuries and joint restrictions. Common treatment techniques used include deep tissue massage, trigger point release, muscle energy techniques, stretching, dry needling, joint mobilisation, and taping/bracing.

Physical Therapy Session

Pregnancy and Post-Partum

At Body Osteopathy we support women through all stages of pregnancy and post-partum.

We have a wide range of osteopathic techniques that can be used to help ease those common aches and pains that can occur during pregnancy as your body changes, adapts, and grows.

Common complaints include pelvic pain, hip pain, low back pain, headaches, and upper back and neck pain.

We have a great pregnancy pillow that allows pregnant women to be able to lie face down on the treatment table.

We can also preform osteopathic treatment in side lying and seated positions.

We will work with you to make sure you feel comfortable throughout the consultation.

We will also send you an at home exercise program to help you though the stage of pregnancy you are in, often including pelvic floor exercises, deep abdominal exercises, stretching and strengthening exercises.
